I have taken a few days off from the blog for a busy weekend and start to the week. This last weekend Joey and I came to the conclusion that we are getting rid of our Honda. After weeks of me performing moves that only Gumby or small acrobats should do getting Isla in and out of the backseat of the 2 door coupe the choice was made. In all reality I was never really that attached to the car, but saying goodbye to the Honda is saying goodbye to my mid 20's and now as I click the option "family sedan" I must admit that my late 20's are fully upon me. I don't know what we are getting yet however I hope it is sporty yet practical and "no" it doesn't matter how many time I watched the U-tube video of the Sienna family we will not be investing in a "Swagger Wagon" as they call it aka: mini van. Although I am not at the point of buying one myself the once swore off oversized easter egg on wheels is no longer an eye sore that I see soccer mom's in yet, a practical tiny tot transporter that I can see complete function in.
In other happenings I have volunteered to host a playgroup at my house for Isla's playgroup (no I have not lost my mind or have been drinking). I am hoping it goes well so please refrain from comments telling me about how you once hosted a group where the kids destroyed your carpet and broke your favorite piece of furniture. I love the baby group that she is apart of and after the experience yesterday with the military family group where I will only highlight one main downfall which consisted of a "Dad" wearing a "Wenches Want Me T-shirt" and launching a ball at a hoop and almost hitting Isla in the head. I have come to the realization how valuable her baby group is and how I need to help support more activities to keep it going.
For all the people that have asked and the others that are still reading this blog entry my new job is still going great. I feel like I go from one end of the spectrum to the other over the course of an 8 hour day. I wake up, get ready, get Isla ready, have breakfast with Joey, then off to work. From supervisor an 11 month old to moving prisoners to assessment then listen for anywhere between 2-3 hours of their life story before making my recommendations to the judge and going home for the day. I go from analyzing risk assessments and felony convictions to singing to the Wiggles and Elmo all in a days work. I think in the field that I am in I have to act as if everyday I am making a difference no matter how small or how lost the kids may be.
So that is me as of lately. I am hoping we will have finalized buying our new car soon and I will have great pictures to post as well as a fab review of my first playgroup I will be hosting.
